1/3 cup sugar
2 teaspoons cinnamon
1/2 teaspoons ground allspice
1/4 teaspoons ground nutmeg
1/8 teaspoon cayenne pepper
1/2 teaspoons salt
1 large egg white
3 cups whole unsalted almonds

1) Preheat oven to 250˚F..
2) Combine the sugar, cinnamon, allspice, nutmeg, cayenne, and salt in a small bowl.
3) In another bowl, beat the egg white until it’s frothy. Add the almonds and toss until coated. Pour the spices over the almonds; toss.
4) Spread almonds on a greased baking sheet in a single layer. Bake for 1 hour. Cool slightly, then break apart. Cool completely and store in an airtight container.
5) Sweet, salty, and with just a hint of heat, these almonds go well with so many picnic foods. They’re also a welcome addition to any cocktail party buffet.
